Rorschach District is a former district of the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. It was created in 1803 when the Canton of St. Gallen was founded. In 2003, it was dissolved as its municipalities were merged into the constituency of Rorschach, with the exception of Eggersriet, which became part of the constituency of St. Gallen.
Averaged over its municipalities, the municipal tax multiplier (Steuerfuss) is 104.7% (2026), 7% below the average of the canton's municipalities (113.1 %). A single person without children on a gross wage of CHF 100'000 pays CHF 11'598 a year in canton, municipality and personal tax on the mean of the municipalities, weighted by residents (tax year 2026, without church, federal and wealth tax). On the mean of the municipalities weighted by residents it is CHF 12'063 in the canton and CHF 12'251 in Switzerland. Rorschach has 46'143 residents.
